Early Life and Family

Allama Sajid Mir was born on 2 October 1938 in the Sialkot city of Pakistan. His family was very religious and they are Kashmiri. He is the relative of the Muhammad Ibrahim Mir Sialkoti who was a very well known scholar.

Education

Allama Sajid Mir Sahib studied at Punjab University. In 1960 he got a Master’s degree in English literature. Later in 1969 he got another Master’s degree in Islamic studies from the same university.

Joining of Politics

In 2009 Allama Sajid Mir Sahib became a senator in Pakistan. He got a special seat for experts and religious leaders. His party was PML-N. He was the head of a group for science and technology. He also worked in other groups. These groups checked rules, government work and problems of Pakistanis who are living outside Pakistan.

Leader of Jamiat Ahle Hadith

In March 2018 Sajid Mir became the leader of Jamiat Ahle Hadith. In September 2020 he joined a big meeting (APC) with other parties. They made a new group called PDM. Sajid Mir spoke at many PDM rallies and protests. In February 2021 Nawaz Sharif called Sajid Mir. He gave him a chance to run for Senate and Sajid Mir won the seat.

Death

Sajid Mir passed away on 3 May 2025. He was 86 years old. He died from a heart attack.
