أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ رَبِّي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنبٍ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Astaghfirullah Rabbi Min Kulli Zambiyon Wa Atubu Ilaih meaning in Urdu

"میں اللہ سے اپنے ہر گناہ کی معافی مانگتا ہوں اور اس کی طرف توبہ کرتا ہوں۔"

English:

"I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin, and I turn to Him in repentance."

Meaning in Urdu:

"أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ رَبِّي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنبٍ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ" کا مطلب ہے کہ بندہ اپنے رب سے ہر گناہ کی معافی  مانگ رہا ہے اور اللہ کی طرف رجوع کر رہا ہے۔ یہ توبہ اور مغفرت کی ایک مکمل دعا ہے جو سچے دل سے مانگی جائے تو گناہوں کو مٹا دیتی ہے۔

While this exact full phrase does not occur verbatim in the Qur’an, the core message of seeking forgiveness and repenting is emphasized repeatedly.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:199):

ثُمَّ أَفِيضُوا۟ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

پھر تم وہیں سے واپس آؤ جہاں سے لوگ واپس آتے ہیں اور اللہ سے بخشش مانگو، بے شک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے۔

English:
Then depart from where the people depart and ask forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Astaghfirullah Rabbi Min Kulli Zambiyon Wa Atubu Ilaih in Hadees

Sahih al-Bukhari 6307

 وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْيَوْمِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً​

English : The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "By Allah, I seek Allah's forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day."

رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: "اللہ کی قسم! میں روزانہ اللہ سے ستر مرتبہ سے زیادہ استغفار اور توبہ کرتا ہوں۔"​

Sunan Ibn Majah 3814

 رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ​

English: Ibn Umar reported: We used to count that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would say one hundred times in a gathering: "O my Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful."

:Urdu

حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں: ہم شمار کرتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ایک مجلس میں سو مرتبہ فرماتے: "اے میرے رب! مجھے معاف فرما اور میری توبہ قبول فرما، بے شک تو توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے۔"​

Mustadrak al-Hakim 2550

مَنْ قَالَ: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ، وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ، ثَلَاثًا، غُفِرَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ، وَإِنْ كَانَ فَرَّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ​

English Translation: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever says: 'I seek forgiveness from Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him' three times, his sins will be forgiven, even if he fled from the battlefield."

:​Urdu Translation

 رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: "جس نے تین مرتبہ کہا: 'میں اللہ سے بخشش مانگتا ہوں، جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، جو زندہ اور قائم ہے، اور میں اس کی طرف توبہ کرتا ہوں'، اس کے گناہ معاف کر دیے جائیں گے، چاہے وہ میدان جنگ سے بھاگا ہو۔"
