Surah Hud is the 11th chapter of the Quran and this surah has the 123 verses and the name of the surah is hud because of the name of Prophet Hud who is mentioned in it. This chapter is called a Makki Surah because it was revealed before Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW moved to Madina. This Surah teaches us to have faith in Allah and follow His guidance and It also highlights the importance of Sabir and trusting Allah especially during tough times.
Benefits of Surah Hud
We can estimate the benefits of surah Hud from the different hadiths which are given below
Jami At Tirmidhi Hadith No 3297 Abu Ishaq narrated from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas who said:“Abu Bakr [may Allah be pleased with him] said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! You have become gray.’ He said: ‘I have gone gray from (Surat) Hud, Al-Waqi`ah, Al-Mursalat and `Amma Yatasa'alun and Idhash-Shamsu Kuwwira.
Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith No 3891
It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:“If the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) saw a cloud that looked as if it was bringing rain, the color of his face would change, and he would go in and out and walk to and fro. Then, if it rained, he would feel relieved.” ‘Aishah mentioned to him what she had seen him do, and he said: “How do you know? Perhaps it would be as the people of Hud said: ‘Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: “This is a cloud bringing us rain!” Nay, but it is that (torment) which you were asking to be hastened.
