Lying is considered a major sin in the Qur'an and Hadith, and its consequences are severe both in this world and the Hereafter. Allah says in the Qur’an: “May the curse of Allah be upon the liars.” (Surah Aal-Imran: 61). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to Hell.” (Muslim). A liar loses trust, respect, and integrity, and society suffers from deception and mistrust. Truthfulness is a core value in Islam, while falsehood breaks down the moral fabric of individuals and communities.
