Surah Isra is the 17th chapter of the Quran and this surah has 111 verses and this surah was revealed in Makkah before Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW moved to Madina. The Surah is named after the miraculous night journey of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW mentioned in the first verse. In this journey he was taken from the Masjid Al Haram in Makkah to the Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. This event called Al Isra shows the great power of Allah and the high honor of His Prophet.
