Surah Maryam is the 19th chapter of the Quran and this Surah has 98 verses and this surah was revealed in Makkah. The surah is named after Maryam who is the mother of Prophet Hazrat Isa A.S. This surah talks about Allah’s mercy, miracles and the lives of important prophets. The chapter starts with the story of Prophet Zakariya. He prays to Allah for a child even though he is old and his wife cannot have children and Allah answers his prayer and gives him a son Hazrat Yahya A.S a good prophet. The Surah also tells the story of Prophet Isa’s miraculous birth.
