Surah Yunus is the 10th chapter of the Quran and this surah has 109 verses and is a Makki surah because It was revealed in Makkah before Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW migrated to Madina. The name of the Surah is from the name of Hazrat Yunus and this surah teaches that Allah is the only Creator and encourages people to worship Him alone and It also explains that the Quran is a guide and source of Hidayat for everyone.
Benefits of Surah Yunus
There are a lot of benefits of Surah Yunus and we all know about the Dua of Hazrat Yunus so below are some narrations about the benefits of the Surah Yunus.
Imam Jafar as Sadiq (AS) narrates that the person who recites Surah Yunus once in two or three months will be placed along Muqabreen (the close ones) on the Day of Judgement.
They also said that if someone recites it then the reward will be equal to the number of persons in the nation of Hazrat Yunus.Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Sa`d narrated from his father, from Sa`d that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Prophet Yunus) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was: ‘There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You, Indeed, I have been of the transgressors. (La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin)’ So indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.”
