وضو کی فضیلت قرآن و حدیث میں بار بار بیان ہوئی ہے۔ قرآن مجید میں سورۃ التوبہ (9:108) میں فرمایا گیا: "اللہ ان لوگوں سے محبت کرتا ہے جو پاکیزگی اختیار کرتے ہیں۔" وضو انسان کو ظاہری اور باطنی پاکیزگی عطا کرتا ہے اور عبادت کے لیے ایک مقدس تیاری کا درجہ رکھتا ہے۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے وضو کی اہمیت کو متعدد احادیث میں بیان فرمایا۔ ایک حدیث میں آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: "جو شخص مکمل طریقے سے وضو کرتا ہے، اس کے پچھلے گناہ معاف کر دیے جاتے ہیں" (مسلم)۔ ایک اور حدیث میں ہے: "میری امت قیامت کے دن چمکتے ہوئے چہروں اور روشن ہاتھ پاؤں کے ساتھ آئے گی، یہ وضو کی وجہ سے ہوگا" (بخاری و مسلم)۔ ان احادیث سے ثابت ہوتا ہے کہ وضو نہ صرف نماز کی تیاری ہے بلکہ یہ روحانی بلندی اور گناہوں کی معافی کا ذریعہ بھی ہے۔

The virtue of Wudu is emphasized in both the Quran and Hadith. In the Quran, Allah says in Surah At-Tawbah (9:108): "Indeed, Allah loves those who purify themselves." Wudu serves as a means of physical and spiritual purification, preparing the believer for acts of worship. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ highlighted the blessings of Wudu in several Hadiths. He said: "Whoever performs Wudu completely, his past sins will be forgiven" (Muslim). In another narration, the Prophet ﷺ said: "My followers will come on the Day of Judgment with bright faces and limbs from the traces of Wudu" (Bukhari & Muslim). These teachings show that Wudu is not only a prerequisite for prayer but also a source of spiritual light, forgiveness, and closeness to Allah.
